KanBo Sync Engine — Quick-Start…
The KanBo Sync Engine is a background service that keeps KanBo cards and spaces in step with external systems such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Autodesk BIM 360, and SQL databases.
Core Functions
- Multi-Mode Synchronization
- Two-Way – Sync changes between KanBo and external system.
- To KanBo – Import and refresh external data automatically.
- To External – Push KanBo updates outward.
- Granularity Control – Configure sync at card-level (single) or space-level (multi).
- Custom Field Mapping – Match fields and entities between systems.
- Secure OAuth Integration – Authorization through Azure AD, Jira, or Autodesk apps.
- Automatic Polling & Conflict Handling – Sync every defined interval with transparent logs.
Example Use Cases
- Keep engineering tasks in Jira aligned with project milestones in KanBo.
- Sync procurement items from SQL database to KanBo Cards for progress tracking.
- Mirror construction issues from Autodesk BIM 360 into a shared KanBo Space for cross-department visibility.
Business Impact
- Eliminate double entry and mismatched project data.
- Allow different teams to use their preferred tools while staying aligned.
- Maintain full data control inside your environment.
Current Status

Planned roadmap includes:
Integration with KanBo Robot for event-driven cross-system actions.
Bi-directional delta sync with field-level conflict resolution.
