Core KanBo Concepts, Features, and Capabilities

Cards – The Building Blocks of Work

Cards represent individual units of work inside a Space — such as tasks, deliverables, issues, or decisions.
Each Card contains all information, communication, and documentation for that activity.

Key capabilities

  • Assign Responsible Person and Co-Workers.
  • Add Start and Due Dates for scheduling.
  • Attach Documents and Notes for context.
  • Use To-Do Lists to break down subtasks.
  • Link Cards to create dependencies or hierarchies.
  • Add Card Blockers to highlight problems or delays.

Card relations

KanBo allows Cards to be connected to show relationships:

  • Parent–Child Relation: Break down large tasks into smaller ones.
  • Next–Previous Relation: Define order of execution.
  • Mirror Card: Display the same work item in multiple Spaces.
